Question: Compatibility list: Which lenses is this Viltrox teleconverter compatible with? The converter has a kind of "glass extension" (its lens assembly) that protrudes beyond the Z-mount plane, therefore not all lenses can be screwed onto it. Mine is a Nikkor 180-600/5.6-6.3.
Answer: The Viltrox TC-2.0X teleconverter for Nikon Z-mount is specifically designed for Nikon's fast telephoto and super-telephoto lenses, as only these offer the necessary physical and electronic features. It is particularly recommended for the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S, but the following models are also compatible: NIKKOR Z 70-180mm f/2.8, Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S, as well as the Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR, Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S, Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S, Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S, and Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S. Important note: Although the teleconverter is manufactured by Viltrox, it is not automatically compatible with other Viltrox Z-mount lenses. For example, the new Viltrox AF 135mm f/1.8 LAB is not electronically supported and therefore does not work with the converter.
