PolarPro CineBlack Filter Helix

The PolarPro CineBlack Filter Helix is a Black Mist diffusion filter with a strength of 1/2, for PolarPro's Helix MagLock system. It gives your images a cinematic feel, where highlights bloom softly and harsh digital contrast is softened, while the shadows stay deep. According to PolarPro, the look resembles that of Kodak cine film, especially in combination with the included presets.

With a strength of 1/2, the CineBlack gives more halation and contrast diffusion than PolarPro's standard 1/4 Black Mist filter, while still retaining depth in the shadows. The filter does not affect color or exposure, and the light transmission is 90%. It is made of Chroma glass from Germany, with an anti-reflective, fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant coating.

You click the Helix filter magnetically onto a Helix base plate that is mounted on your lens, without threads. This way you switch between filters in a few seconds, for example a variable ND filter for video and clean glass for photos. You stack the filter with other Helix filters. You need the Helix base plate to attach the filter to your lens, and it is available separately. The filter comes with a front and rear cover.
