PolarPro CineBlack 1/2 density filter - 4x5 Frame

PolarPro CineBlack Filter 4x5

The PolarPro CineBlack Filter in 4x5 is a rectangular Black Mist diffusion filter with a strength of 1/2, intended for matte boxes with a 4x5-inch filter holder. It gives your images a cinematic feel, where highlights bloom softly and harsh digital contrast is softened, while the shadows stay deep. According to PolarPro, the look resembles that of Kodak cine film, especially in combination with the included presets.

With a strength of 1/2, the CineBlack gives more halation and contrast diffusion than PolarPro's standard 1/4 Black Mist filter, while still retaining depth in the shadows. This makes it suited to stylized work or a stronger film look. The filter does not affect color or exposure, and the light transmission is 90%.

The filter is made of Chroma glass from Germany, with an anti-reflective, fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant coating. The aluminum frame is weather-sealed and lets you handle the filter easily. You download the matching color presets for free via PolarPro.
