PolarPro CineBlack Filter 49mm

The PolarPro CineBlack Filter is a Black Mist diffusion filter with a strength of 1/2, for photo and video. It gives your images a cinematic feel, where highlights bloom softly and harsh digital contrast is softened, while the shadows stay deep. According to PolarPro, the look resembles that of Kodak cine film, especially in combination with the included presets.

With a strength of 1/2, the CineBlack gives more halation and contrast diffusion than PolarPro's standard 1/4 Black Mist filter, while still retaining depth in the shadows. This makes it suited to stylized work or a stronger film look. The filter does not affect color or exposure, because it is a 0-stop model with a light transmission of 90%.

The filter is made of Chroma glass from Germany, with an anti-reflective, fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant coating. The frame and the canister are made of 6061 aluminum and weather-sealed. The filter has threads on the front, so you can stack other filters on it, and it fits the MagFlip lens hood. You download the matching color presets for free via PolarPro.
