The PolarPro PMVND Edition II 6-9 Stop Black Mist Filter combines a variable ND filter and a Black Mist diffusion filter in one frame. The 6-9 stops of light reduction (ND64 to ND512) are intended for long shutter speeds and for filming in log. This gives you the motion blur of cinematic shutter speeds even in bright daylight, while the Black Mist lets your highlights roll off more softly. According to PolarPro, the diffusion has a strength of 1/8.

The stop range is preset, so you never have to deal with the well-known X pattern of cross-polarization. You feel every position click thanks to the haptic locking system, so you don't have to take your eye off the image. The Cinema Series glass can handle sensors up to 8K and keeps colors neutral, and the anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings provide a clean, high-contrast image.

The specially designed frame prevents vignetting from 16mm. The 95mm filter fits lenses with a 95mm filter thread and lenses with a coarse 95mm thread. You don't stack other filters on the filter itself, and it is not MagLock compatible. Because a variable ND filter is wider than a standard filter, it usually doesn't fit under the standard lens hood of your lens. The box contains a cover for the front and back that fully seals the filter when you are not shooting.
