Explore Scientific ED APO 127mm triplet apochromat f/7.5 FCD-100 CF HEX
The Explore Scientific ED APO 127mm triplet apochromat f/7.5 FCD-100 CF HEX is a highly corrected 127mm triplet apochromat (three lenses) with carbon tube and 2.5" HEXAFOC precision eyepiece extension.
Apochromats are the measure of all things in the small and medium aperture range: the combination of good transportability, very high image contrast and sharpness with the excellent capabilities these devices offer for astrophotography cannot be surpassed here. Advances in glass production in recent years have made high-quality apochromats possible for an ever-increasing number of buyers. With the new Explore Scientific FCD-100 Alu Hex, this development has peaked - the colour purity of this device sets new standards in this price range. The optical design achieves a polystyrene of 0.97 - a value that stands for maximum correction.
This excellent apochromat is a versatile device: the fast aperture ratio of f/7.5 allows short exposure times in astrophotography, the high image sharpness and excellent contrast enable overview observations such as those of the North American Nebula or the Andromeda galaxy as well as sharp planetary observations. The device is exceptionally light and compact - the protective cap can be space-saving. Advanced lenses and careful manufacturing have created telescopes that offer pure observing pleasure at the highest level. This telescope is therefore recommended not only as a travel telescope, but also for quick observation in between and for astrophotography. The high-quality 2.5" HEXAFOC eyepiece extension with 1:10 reduction rounds off the image of this all-round device - due to the large free diameter of 65 mm, no vignetting is caused by the eyepiece extension even when astrophotographing with larger chips, as with smaller diameters.
