Instant Cameras

Everything about the Polaroid camera

Do you love the unpredictability of analogue photography? Then the instant camera is the ideal camera for you. But there are choices galore: retro version or a hip new one? One with interchangeable lenses or one with the option for filters?Whatever you choose, with an instant camera you capture your favourite events anytime, anywhere.

What is an instant camera

With an instant or Polaroid camera, your photo is printed directly via the camera. That's great fun when you have a party with friends, for instance. The white border around the photos can be provided with unique drawings, the date or a personal message. That's exactly what makes this camera so unique.

The creation of the Polaroid camera

The instant camera originated in the 1920s. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Polaroid cameras were already very popular, but the absolute highlight was in the 70s. A dip followed in the 1980s, after which, following various acquisitions, a successful restart was made by Polaroid, succeeded by Fujifilm and Leica.

Variation in Polaroid cameras

Stylish and hip or the retro look, there is variation with Polaroid cameras. The stylish and hip cameras feature a design in striking colours and the retro cameras still have the 60s or 70s look and feel. The features of the instant cameras range from automatic focusing to cameras with interchangeable lenses. By using different lenses, like with Lomography, it is possible to carry out creative experiments with your Polaroid camera.
